Re: OSX 10.6.6 and PT8

I'm running 10.6.6 on a MacBook Pro i7 and PT 8.0.3 with no problems. However I use it for location recording and take it back home to my Mac Pro (10.6.x with 8.0.3) to do mixing and editing so I...

Re: Pro Tools and OS X 10.6.5

It makes sense when you use more than just PT on the computer.

Re: Pro Tools LE go to the grave?

I really have no idea what this is supposed to mean. If you mean that Pro Tools LE doesn't run on Snow Leopard, then let me state that I run LE on 10.6.3 with no trouble.

Re: Necessity of word clock when connecting to AD/DA converters

Nope, only into the A2D. If I take the 7b into my 003R there are no clicks/pops. The 7b and A2D just aren't playing nice in the sandbox, been that way since day one.

I've clocked with the A2D as...

Re: Necessity of word clock when connecting to AD/DA converters

I have the API A2D and it's good but does have some issues as well. When I use it with my SM-7b it introduces lots of clicks that doesn't happen with the 003R. These are printed onto the track,...

Re: Pro Tools LE on new MacBook Pro I7

Same issue here, just got my MacBook Pro yesterday.

Always crashes (may not even load) when using the USB port closest to the power connection for my mbox2 but appears ok when...

Re: problem with pro tool 8.0 and mbp

I don't believe 10.6.3 is officially supported yet, last I knew 10.6.2 was the latest supported version.

Need complete details for SL upgrade

I was certain that this would have been covered but I can't find a previous thread that covers it.

I have PT 8.0.3 (no CS) running on Leopard 10.5.8, works fine. I have the disc for Snow Leopard...

Re: macbook pro 2.53 or 2.66 ghz

I would love a MacBook Pro also but I keep hearing rumors about a revision, yet I've been hearing about it for quite a while. I don't need the extreme performance as I already have an 8 core Mac Pro...

Re: Mac v.8.0?

8.0 and 8.0.1 won't officially work in Snow Leopard but you can install them. Some have had moderate success using pre 8.0.3 versions with SL, other not so much.

If you download a file from your...

Re: Moving Pro Tools to another internal drive

Why does it need to be on the same drive as the OS? Other programs don't need to be on the system drive to function.

Re: Bouncing song - too quiet, sounds rough, plain,etc...Should I do something differ

Mastering is the last step in the food chain. Once you are completely done with mixing the songs are they mastered and usually they are sent out to be mastered. Only amateur's (like us), with a...

Re: Bouncing song - too quiet, sounds rough, plain,etc...Should I do something differ

Being significantly quieter than a pro song is normal since your song has not been mastered. My mixes usually peak at -3 to -6 and live around -10. Mastering brings up the volume in a proper manner...

Re: Best Mastering Plugins?

Massey L2007 is great, I only do volume "mastering" of my demo stuff and it does a great job.

Re: Pro Tools 9

Most companies work on software long in advance, wouldn't surprise me at all if PT9 was in the works. But it would surprise me if it came in the next 18 months. PT8 just came out a year ago.

Re: Any Drummers Out There with Tips on Miking for Recording?

With the mBox you are getting two channels into Pro Tools and not individual tracks for each mic when using 3 or more mics. So your against the wall to start.

First, the most important mics are...

Re: Multi processor, Snow Leopard, 8.0.3p ...?!

You just answered your own question, get rid of vacuum. Forget waiting for someone else if you already have the answer. Maybe they'll fix it later but it appears to be broke now.

I don't think...

Re: Which MacPro To buy for Pro Tools LE 8/003?

That what I did a year ago, got an 8 core 2.8 GHz at a great price and have been very happy with it. I run PT 8 LE with a 003R.

I noticed much more of an improvement over my PC when going...
