So when you hook up an SM57 to your MBox and turn the Mix knob all the way to Input.. you get clicks in the headphones?

If the answer is Yes.. then this isn't related in any way to your computer...

List all the PCI cards you have in your system, all FireWire devices and your IRQ assignments. Since you know it's the computer.. you're going to have to start minimizing... Ghost your system and do...

Tell us about your power supply... what brand and how many watts.

Have you tried using your MBox on another system and had success? Try using a powered hub.

Okay - so tell us about your microphone and the cable it's attached to... is it balanced? What model microphone? Where's the gain on your MBox set to for the preamp? Is phantom on or off?

Well.. do you get clicks and pops when playing back the demo session with your clock set to INTERNAL?

Have you installed the latest MBox firmware?

Are you using the supplied USB cable?
