Re: iLok "renewal is pending for the following licenses"

Just call support. I had the same problem and just got it resolved in about 10 minutes on the phone. It's been happening to some of us the last few days so most of their operators are aware of it.

Re: OT: State Sales Tax.

Utah, like most states, doesn't require sales tax on services. The only exception is if they specifically list a service in their sales tax law.

Re: HDX vs. Accel DSP usage comparsions please

The real pull for developers here will be the power the new hardware gives them:

(1) As always, they'll take this as an opportunity to improve on the existing stable of plugins. That means...

Re: Quite Possibly The Dumbest Questions of 2011

If sound quality is your main concern (as opposed to workflow issues, delay compensation options, the kind of plugins you can access, etc.) then I would say "Yes." It doesn't sound like your...

Re: Quite Possibly The Dumbest Questions of 2011

I think that's a good way to put it. Especially when you're using 24bit. I like recording at 96/24, and I think I can tell the difference. But it's not an "ohmygoshIcan't believeit" kind of...

Re: Quite Possibly The Dumbest Questions of 2011

Preamps and mics trump converters every time.

You have to have a pretty bad converter to ruin a good preamp/mic combo used correctly. And you don't have to upgrade to HD for a better sound. I...

Re: HDX dealer recommendation?

I had a similar experience with Sweetwater, but I think it depends on the rep you deal with.

It was kind of creepy.

I ended up buying my rig and several great preamps from Marquette Audio...

Re: 3 Questions about 32 bit Floating Point, AAX and SRC at 32BFP

I know, I'm sorry.

I used to hear this from my parents almost everyday
when I was a kid. You would think I'd have learned my
lesson by now. :D

(Thanks for clarifying, by the way.
I...

Re: 3 Questions about 32 bit Floating Point, AAX and SRC at 32BFP

Hi Alecio,

Not sure about a) or c), but I believe an advantage of 32bit floating point (as opposed to TDM's 24bit or 48bit fixed point) has to do with more headroom. From posts I've read here...

Re: PT10 any improvement for composers?

+1

Even if it's just an upgradeable "foot in the door" feature like the Ableton or Reason Lite freebie promos.

Re: Which path to go?

(But...

Re: 6 Core Westmere+PT HD+VE Pro=OMG
