Re: Waves Vocal Rider Again

There is extensive info (https://www.waves.com/vocal-rider-in-depth) on Waves site and a topic here. (http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=395843) Might be some PT preferences issue.

Re: Waves Deals

AFAIK the SD version is OGG-based, but it still sounds great. I think it is a great CPU/HDD saving solution, I don't think I would even bother to switch to the HD version.

Re: Transparent De-essers

Got it too, also my favorite so far. Simple controls and really foolproof design. Difficult to get artifacts even if you abuse it.

Re: Alternative to Waves MV2?

The 'low level' compression in MV2 is pretty simple I believe, if you look to the picture in the manual, no? And then you have 'high level' compression on top of it, which is 'regular' RVox-like...

Actually the Waves site says "Every new purchase or upgrade of any Waves product includes one full year of Waves Update Plan coverage."

Re: MB Comp / DynEq on Chug Guitar

Yes, IQ-EQ is another very versatile one. I've recently got Waves F6, so I switched to it for almost every frequency-dependent dynamic tasks. Another interesting 'hybrid' plugin is Waves C6 which is...

Re: MB Comp / DynEq on Chug Guitar

Only in terms of workflow, or philosophy if you want. In the end both tools are just attenuating certain frequency range. The only principal difference is the curve. With MB, it is a band-pass (flat...

Re: MB Comp / DynEq on Chug Guitar

For the application you describe, there will be very small (if even audible) difference between compressing frequencies and reducing frequencies. Give it a try and see if it works for you.

Re: MB Comp / DynEq on Chug Guitar

I believe dynEQ will work very similarly. Check out Waves F6 for that - affordable, versatile, not CPU hog, zero latency. And on sale now too.

Re: Audio Master Loudness using Waves WLM

Hi!

I use WLM Plus myself and I love it. I set up the built-in true peak limiter to -1 dBFS and usually aim to -16...-14 LUFS long term per song.

Please note that only TIDAL really uses LUFS....

Re: Aphex Aural Exciter?

I've only used (and using) the Waves version. Find it useful on dull snares, dull kicks (the click) and dull vocals.

Re: All Waves comps on sale

Honestly I believe any subtle difference is totally masked with the noise source signal. Some sine or other but still simple waveform could probably reveal it better.

Re: What do you like for slap back delay?

That's pretty what I do too. Though I find myself using H-delay most of time, especially on vocals, but I think it will depend on genre. Did not test the new AR Room yet for all applications, but it...

Re: 2018.7 hanging on 'Waves shield 9.92 at start up

What you see in your Waves acc is your license version, not plugin version. 9.2 is fine for all v9 plugins, you don't need WUP to install the latest v9.92 and it will work.
The only thing is that at...

Re: Waves V10 compatibility?

You do not _have_ to upgrade plugins to v10. If you _want_ to upgrade, you need to have WUP current for the plugins.

Re: Waves Dorrough 380-D meter - any thoughts?

It is very nice-looking and versatile. Three different 'styles' (GUI types), each is scalable (3 fixed sizes). Has also surround version (sold separately). Shows peaks and average.

Re: Waves Update Plan - WUP - What’s the point?

There is (unfortunately) some confusion always, because Waves have license version and plugin version. 9.2.0 is current license version (this is what you see when you go to your Waves profile and...

Re: Waves Update Plan - WUP - What’s the point?

Yes, that's because WavesShell was updated. When you get new plugins that work with the new version of WavesShell, your WavesCentral will inevitably update WavesShell, which means you will need to...

Re: Stereo Width and Panning

I would second Waves ADT (https://www.waves.com/plugins/reel-adt) here. It has preset like '2 guitars better than 1' or something - and I love it on guitar.

@Rhodesholar In general there are two...

Re: Loving it! (Waves plugins success)

I think NLS has TG12345 Mk 4 in it, while AR TG12345 is Mk 1 with some modifications. Anyway, could you elaborate on how you used it on drums? Did you split them to instruments (e.g. snare track,...

I've bought Waves F6 and not looking back to bx_dynEQ v2 which I have for some time already. F6 seems to have a bit more features than paid version of Nova. I still sometimes use bx_dynEQ to duck...

Re: problem with waves cla2a compressor

Yeah, looks like graphic adapter driver problem. Had something similar some time ago. Waves suggested to update graphics driver from the manufacturer site, and it worked.

Also, it is good idea to...

Re: PT 12 and Waves 9.3

No, it's not always the case that you need to uninstall all and reinstall, but I've seen some people mentioned it was the case for them. From what I see it is also about version of CW that you have...
