Personally I would hang fire until Avid actually release something worth jumping back on for. I'm assuming you've got v12.7.1. v12.8 was just bug fixes for native users so unless there was something...

You get 30 days grace. So if you expired less than a month ago then you're in luck. Otherwise you'll have to pay $199 to jump back on.

It looks as though I might have been slightly premature. Pro Tools requires the faderport to be enabled in the synchronisation and Machine Control sections. For some reason v12.8 had reset this.

Presonus Faderport not working properly with v12.8

Hi,

Presonus Faderport works fine with v12.7.1 and with Studio One/Reaper. Doesn't work properly with v12.8. Motorised fader isn't working and the buttons are intermittent. Have Avid broke HUI?

6 months wait for......pretty much nothing. The last 12 months have been a joke and a complete ripoff. Bad move Avid.

Every other DAW has had this for years. Along with every other feature released during v12. Except for cloud collaboration. Which no one wanted.

They would mean that Vanilla users would have received pretty much nothing for over a year. Perhaps they have given up hope on that market.

I would say that 12.8 is Dolby Atmos and not a lot else. And probably nothing at all for Vanilla users. Happy to be proved wrong though.

I know HD users have had it much much worse. I have an HD and Vanilla licence. However for my vanilla licence this is what I've had in the past year for my $99:

I don't think they can! They are losing loyal customers fast. Customers who have previously kept them afloat by spending a LOT of money. Anyone new entering the game is a lot less likely to choose to...

What a list of revolutionary new features. A splendid effort to get all that lot out in just over two years whilst keeping the software stable and bug free. All that for $798. What a bargain.
