+1. I use my TLM103 for voiceover, but not for sung vocals. The TLM103 is great for AC guitar and many other things, but it's no U87 !!!

I own two vintage U87's from the late 1970's. While they are quite sweet sounding, the self-noise is a bit higher than later U87's. I understand that Neumann (Sennheiser) has a circuit mod to...

To my ear, the Rode NT1A is a little bit brittle sounding. The NT2A, however, is a great mic. After owning one for a while, I bought a second NT2A and they are my go-to mics for many (not all)...

Great idea. Find a seller that will sell you 2-3 mic choices, and accept returns on the ones that do not work for you.

Rode NT2A beat my 2 Neumann U87's in a blind A/B/C test in my studio.
