Wow. So I can have 16 analog INs to the aurora 16, then also connect two 8-channel preamps to the AES inputs on the Aurora?

So, in that case, the aurora would do A-to-D conversion for the 16...

I've been googling, but I can't get a good answer. What is AES? I see that it is a digital our, which I don't think I'll need if I get a dedicated converter, right?

Thanks Albee. Keep in mind though I won't need light pipe out since I'll be ditching the foxusrite interface and going for a Lynx converter. Would you still recommend it?

Interesting. Ideally I'm looking for all analog gear since i'll have the Lynx converter. I do see that the midas has analog out though, i assume it bypasses the built-in A/D converter?

So while I'm looking for the best bang for the buck, I don't mind spending more for a better sound. I can't afford 16 Neve pre's, but I dont mind getting one or for key things like vox, kick, snare,...
