With HDX I can record MIDI drum parts at 1024 buffer. I could not do that when using vanilla. Using the DSP mixer helps.

I read a review of Carbon where there is a delay on instruments at buffers above 32. Wondering if that's true. With HDX, since the mixer is using the card you can run soft synths run at higher...

Exactly. It's still 99% what's being recorded that makes the track.. So easy to get caught up in plugins (I have myself gone too far). Hits were made on those 'old" plugins with worse converters...

Not so clear but sounds like when you play back you have the unit still sending signal to the mixer as well as audio playing back from PT that you recorded thus doubling the output?

I don't know about his gear but from my experience of owning and using API gear daily I can say this plug is not crap.

To Jack's point, expensive yes (although I paid a lot less).

Plugin Alliance has now delivered the Lindell 50 channel strip. Three diff API EQ's and two different compressors, a gate/exp that works and great "gain" tone if you want.
