Re: Let's hear your latest stuff....right here

Hi,
thanks for the kind words. Some more info:
The musicians were a guitar player recorded through DI (post fx), a keyboard player recorded as midi, a vocal artist who uses his voice with a mike...

Re: Let's hear your latest stuff....right here

Hi,
We released an album with what we ourselves describe as ’the strangest music you might ever heard’. That’s the reason I am posting it here. Curious what you think of the music, the mix and if...

Re: Panning for dummies

Also check your mixes on headphones. Lot of people listen to music on headphones, and panning that sounds fine on speakers might sound ‘wrong’ on headphones, and vice versa…
Especially hard panned...

Re: New Monitor

I have both a curved and a straight 34” 4k, each connected to another Mac. I don’t have a preference. What I do notice is that your brain compensates for the curved display (your brain sees a curved...

Re: MacBook Pro quad core touch bar

With better touch tool (think it is around 7 USD) you can map your favorite key commands and much more to user designable touch buttons in any app....I like it.
(I originally bought BTT because I...

Re: Missing audio files: Automatically NEVER find and NEVER re-link?

Hi, if you know where the files are but PT doesn’t, you can simple drag the audio files to the clip list (right side edit window).
If they are the same as the missing ones, then PT will recognize...

Re: Command Click on MacBookPro does not do Right Click.

Just bear in mind, although most manufacturers use ctrl click as a keyboard alternative for right click it is not 'hard wired' and you will find software where ctrl click just doesn't do the same...

Re: AAE-6101 on late 2016 I 7 MBP

Errors in the 6000 range are driver related errors. Check if you use the rigth version etc... good luck, Dan

Try DMG compassion, it has a built in graphic display of the compression happening. I think fabfilter comp also does this...

Re: Calling All Compressor Experts

Hi
There are some other flavours , and even within one flavour the actual behaviour will depend on the design.
If you want to know all variables that make up a compressor you could try DMG Audio's...

Re: Tascam Portastudio for cassette archiving?

If they are consumer stereo cassettes they most likely use dolby B or C as noise reduction. I think the Tascam has DBX. That would be my main worry.
Also, if I remember correctly all these (maybe...

Re: PT HDX count off causes all tracks to play on output 1-2

Hey, that's interesting. So we're not the only ones. Then I guess we stop fiddling, and leave AFL/PFL to none... Since he doesn't use that anyway.

Thanks, good to know!

Re: PT HDX count off causes all tracks to play on output 1-2

Hi Dave
Hmm, I'll check if it goes away if there is no count off only. We only tested the combi that gave him problems; count off plus metronome. So technically we do not know if it is the count off...

Re: PT HDX count off causes all tracks to play on output 1-2

Hi Detroit!
Thanks a lot for the reply, appreciated. However, we trashed prefs and setups, deleted the whole IO setup and created them from scratch. But the issue is repeatable, even with a brand...

Re: Multiple Playback Channels Without Being Assigned

hi
I posted this a while ago. Could be related, could be different, but the setup is similar.
Only thing is that in our case it is only during record with countoff/metronome.

Re: PT HDX count off causes all tracks to play on output 1-2

Hi
Thanks for the input. He doesn't use any sub grouping or sub master, his use of PT is quite basic, more as an editable tape machine than anything else. His mixes mainly happen on the desk and his...

PT HDX count off causes all tracks to play on output 1-2

I have a friend with PT HDX with PTHD12.4.0.294 on a Mac Pro (forgot to write down the model, but it is approved for HDX and has 14GB of memory) with OSX 10.8.5 which works fine, except for an...

Re: Thunderbolt Connector Apollo 8p Problem

Wouldn't blame PT, plenty of daws that would get confused if the hardware is missing. My previous Mac didn't have this problem, I tried two different Apple TB cables, didn't help, and when I took it...

IO and bus labels do not turn yellow when in use

Hi
Was wondering if anyone else seen this, and if anybody knows a different solution than trashing the IO setup/prefs and configure again. (which is a bit of pain)

A studio with PT HDX 12.4.1 (if...

Audient and RME both make USB class compliant interfaces, which mean they even work without installing dedicated drivers. (Which might add extra functions)
For me this was a reason to buy an...
