He's saying that you can only plug/unplug the mbox when your mac is shutdown. If you plug/unplug it while your mac is on, you'll get a KP. Sucks, but it's that only work around that I'm aware of.

What interface are you using? If it's the Mbox 2, and you are plugging/unplugging it while your Macbook is still on, then that's the cause. It doesn't support hot plugging.
