Re: 003R - No output from monitor, but headphone OK

It's nice when something turns out to be an easy fix. Even if it means I'm a muppet :-)

Thanks again!

Re: 003R - No output from monitor, but headphone OK

Er, you know that Alt-CTRL button, well, er, that was the problem. I never touch the settings on the front of the 003R, so must have hit this one by accident.

Thanks for the help!

Re: Superior Drummer no longer recognizes TD12 midi

Finally figured it out... there were a couple of issues:
The 9.0.5 updater (I used this to update from 9.0.3) apparently removes midi drivers and device (003r) drivers that were present on the...

Re: Superior Drummer no longer recognizes TD12 midi

No, the TD is not showing up in midi studio.
I created a new midi device. Selected Roland as manufacturer, but I could only see TD-10 as an option for device name - no other vDrums were listed (i.e....

Hi folks,

I'm on PT 9.0.5 on a 2011 i5 Macbook Pro. I use a TD12 to trigger SD2.2.3. Everything was working swimmingly until tonight. I suspect it's because I recently installed Lion (although I'm...

Re: Syncing audio recorded on friends system

Thanks for the replies... yes, we are converting to MP3 files, so it sounds like that's the cause of the problem. I'll go back & manully trim the clips again.

Other than that, it sounds like...

Re: Syncing audio recorded on friends system

Both audio & midi are affected. The difference is noticeable (i.e. the timing is definately out of synch & needs to be nudged back in before I can work on the session). As far as I can gather, it...

Re: Syncing audio recorded on friends system

Thx for the replies. We both always bounce audio from 0:00:00 (even if the audio itself only kicks in halfway through the song), so we are starting from the same point in the session.

Printing the...

Actually, it was doing both... I found out what happened.. seems like one of my kids may have changed the settings on the TD12 - it was in the "Jam" setting (where hitting the cymbals starts a bass...

Re: Recording with Superior Drummer and V-Drum

Sorry to resurrect an old (ish) thread, but I've just switched from an acoustic drum set up to a TD12 with Superior Drummer 2.0. Got all it hooked up & working through my 003r. Very impressed I have...

Re: Overhead mic technique - what works for you?

Will def be trying all of the above in the next couple of weeks

Thanks for all the replies so far...

The kit is off-centre already (as much as it can be in such a small room). The ceiling is semi-treated... I have some Rockwool slabs (wrapped in fabric)...

Overhead mic technique - what works for you?

Great to see the drum room finally open. My home set up is a 12 x 12 ft room. I have to track & mix in the same room (no alternative). It has some treatment, but still sounds like a 12x12....

Digi 003 rack - very high input gain with Beyer Opus 88 mic

I recently picked up a Beyer Opus 88 for micing my snare (replacing an SM57). I like everything about the 88 - but the input gain is way too high on the channel input. It's peaking even when I have...

I have a maple Pearl Session Custom (10, 12 & 14 with 22" kick). Snare is a Masters maple 14x5". Cymbals are a mix of Zildjian A Customs/Z & Sabian AAX/HHX

Re: Hey Digi How about an "All Things Drums" section

A vote from me too...

Speaking as a drummer, I'm more interested in micing techniques & processing acoustic drums rather than just focusing on VI/programming drums.

Speaking as a...

Re: Recording Plug-Ins

Cheers indeed... although when it comes to getting a decent drum sound in a home studio, that's a world of pain.

Maybe we can trade tips, but that's a thread for another day!

Re: Recording Plug-Ins

Thanks for the kind words Alan, but I'm just a relative a newbie to PTLE... a newbie learned the hard way with the "VI to audio" thing.

As for writing a book - I wish! I couldn't even fill a beer...
