Hi, i have just recorded an album in the studio.
The engineer is going to mix some of the tracks for our EP.
Was wanting to bring home the whole session and mess around with it myself.

Hello, yes, i ran about 8 tracks and loaded them with heavy plugins, reverb, delays, compression, and all worked fine.
Think it will be ok for demo projects.

I do not see it as a problem to turn on the external hard drive with my pc already on.
Once the Hard drive is on i then switch on the Digi 003.

My laptop which is a bit dated...

Hi Albee, yes we have had that conversation a couple of months ago.
I would have bought the 2 FW400 port OWC but they do not have them for sale in Australia.
Only the FW400 (1) and FW800(2) port...

I am running a HP6710b Windows XP Pro SP3.
A bit unstable as i cannot even run a Sandra report without crashing.
Pretty reliable though for small PTools sessions.

Ok, will avoid turning on when computer is on.
Am running the Ext HD on USB at the moment.
Which is a waste as i have the OWC Mercurly elite HD.

USB is ok as i am only doing demos, a few tracks...

Yes i am!

Makes no difference if i have the units on before turning on laptop.
Still wont recognise the hard drive with the 003.

So i should have the 003 and OWC Hard Drive switched on before...

So there might be a chance of distortion or clipping but no damage to unit.

Both off of a Belkin FW400 type 2 cardbus firewire card.
Has 3 ports.

I finally had it running after switching the order around a bit....

Thanks, just wanted to make sure i wont damage the 003 using the XLR inputs.
Am just using the POD XT for my clean channel and running an OCD or TS808 for distortion.
I am getting a usable sound...

Hello, i have AVG security on my pc.
Digi recommends disabling the Windows automatic updates.
I have been in touch with AVG and they say this may leave the pc vulnerable to viruses.
