Re: HD Core PCI-X in an i7 DAW

Hmmm, we're running three 3.4Ghz i7 Dual Threaded Quad Core (8 cores to PT HD), PC based PCIx HD4 systems with UAD-2 Octo cards, and they work great in our experience (PT HD 8.0.5/9.x).

Re: FIX!! Protools HD 8.1 and Win 7 64 bit

I can't imagine any more features that we'd "need" seeing we have all the plugins we want, plus we have a UAD-2 Octo card in each of the three HD4 systems as well.

It's expensive to upgrade to PT...

Re: FIX!! Protools HD 8.1 and Win 7 64 bit

Note that the PT HD 8.0.5 installer has the 8.1 features and the 8.0 drivers, and works fine with Win 7 64bit sans drama, i.e. install and go.

Re: Anyone keeping their Mix + System?

Yep, still on my Mix rig and PT 5.1.3. I upgraded to all Mix Cards a few years back (now a Mix+++) and completely satisfied with Apogee Converters, 2 X 24bit ADAT Bridges and a Dual Core PC with...

Re: Best newer Mac for old PT-MIX system?

IMO an upgraded Digital Audio G4 works best as it's the quietest (mine has a 1.4Ghz OWC 7455 2M L3 clocked back to it's native 1.3Ghz to avoid corrupting the MoBo audio PRAM). It runs one Mix Core...

Re: Questions regarding our Mix24 system to OS X!!!

Works fine for what I do which is generally stereo blues, jazz, and roots music production with a...

Re: Need advice - Upgrade to HD? Stay with Mix 3?

I still do most of my audio work in OS9.2.2 with PT 5.1.3/Mix3/Apogee I/O on a Digital Audio G4 1.4GHz (OWC 7455 upgraded from a 466), and it's fast and rock solid.

I get around the not being...

Re: Official UAD TDM Offer / Statement

Indeed, I've always practiced this principle, to the point of currently being happy with a Mix3 system in a 1.4GHz G4 (which includes a Dual CPU PC running Giga and VSTi's returning via 2 ADAT...

Re: 888 TDM OSX 10.3.9

I'm considering upping 10.3.7 to 10.3.9 if I won't lose any functionality with my Mix H/W and PT 6.4.1 (for a non-music project), what's the word on PT 6.4.1 and OS 10.3.9 together with Mix H/W?

PT 6.4.1 And OS 10.3.9?

Hi, I'm currently running OS 10.3.7 with no problems (Core Audio 6.5.2), and I was wondering OS 10.3.9 worked for everyone?

This is a D24 with 2 Mix Farms on a 1.3GHz G4 (Digital Audio 466 upped...

Re: Anyone keeping their Mix + System?

Hi all...

I was wondering how many Mix Chips I'd need to put Phoenix across a Stereo Buss (one chip for a stereo instance or two for dual mono etc)?

Re: G4 processor upgrades

Updated a G4 466 to a G4 1.4Ghz via OWC (2M L3 Cache), and it's perfect.

Thi primarily with a Mix++/PT 5.1.3 on OS9.2.2.

Re: CPU Upgrade

I've recently installed a OWC 1.4Ghz CPU in my 466Mhz Digital G4 running a Mix++. I slowed it down to it's rated speed of 1.3Ghz. Everything seems fine, though I run PT 5.1.3 under OS9.2.2 (multiple...
