Re: ADAT S/MUX Channel Assignments Feature Request

Thanks, Jeff. I think you've pointed out the problem better than me. That's not a valid 48K input signal. It's a multiplexed 96K signal.

Best,

Re: ADAT S/MUX Channel Assignments Feature Request

Just reporting back. So the Symphony sees the digital card as 8 channels regardless of 48K v. 96K. The S/MUX is provided purely for higher sample rates so there's no "ADAT 1" and "ADAT 2." I'm...

Re: ADAT S/MUX Channel Assignments Feature Request

Thanks, BScout. Both are very good points and I'll try the workaround you suggested. The source is my Symphony I/O being addressed by Pro Tools over TBolt. The Symphony is a much more user...

ADAT S/MUX Channel Assignments Feature Request

I'm using a MTRX Studio almost like a standalone monitor controller in order to employ the SPQ room correction and EuCon control. One of my sources is via ADAT S/MUX. The problem is when I change...

Re: Supported iMac Computers PT 2019

Thanks again, Darryl.

Since he already has multiple external drives and the experience of using them, I figured the 512GB would be plenty. I'm sure he could learn to work off the internal and...

Re: Supported iMac Computers PT 2019

Amazing. Thank you, Darryl. Here are the answers as I best I can provide.

1) Val is a guitar player. A stunning guitar player. He is not a computer person. He runs ProTools 8 like a tape...

Supported iMac Computers PT 2019

I'm trying to help a friend upgrade his iMac for PT 2019. It looks like the only 27" iMac supported is the 3.6 i9 with the upgraded video card. Is that possible? Only a BTO iMac will do? Is it...

Re: Do not upgrade to Pro Tools 12.7 - Clip Gain Bug

You are one in a million. They should pay you to find these kinds of bugs. I'm not sure I would need any of those processes in my work flow, but I am impressed. Your post will stick in my mind for...

Re: MDW EQ 5 AAX Plug-In: Fix is On the Way

It's fixed! Hooray! Thank you very much. I was choosing more compatible, worse sounding EQs as a workaround and I was not very happy about it.

Re: MDW EQ 5 AAX Plug-In: Fix is On the Way

Should this upgrade not more clearly be labeled a "crossgrade?" As far as I can tell, you lose not only your TDM license, but also your RTAS license. So unless you can convince every studio you use...

That would be incredible if it worked. Anybody got a rig to try it?

Re: PCIe HD Accel with Thunderbolt Magma - FAIL

There's not a soul at AVID that ever looks at that forum. Anybody that could do anything to help doesn't even realize that there are still TDM users out here.

Re: Anyone running Accel cards in Thunderbolt to PCIe chassis?

We've gotta get this to happen. AVID...please advise. There are zero macintosh computers being manufactured (by Apple, that is) with PCIe slots. Why are you ignoring the foundation of your user...

Re: Current state of MDW EQ v.5

You ain't wrong. Somebody with zero experience in a real studio just took over the reins of company that bears the name of one of the most experienced among us. The fact that no one at said company...

Re: MDW EQ 5 AAX Plug-In: Fix is On the Way

We've got to get this fixed. I've sent a few tech support emails to MDWorks and there has been no response at all. The v3 license needs to be returned to my ilok. I'd deal with staying in 10 and...

Re: MDW EQ 5 AAX Plug-In: Fix is On the Way

I still need the TDM version. Is there any fix for the problem that the V5 license won't authorize the V3 TDM instances? I know that there's an RTAS version included, but the sessions built with...

Re: AVID HD I/O vs. Apogee Symphony?

SIO for sure. Sure you can debate the sound quality til you're blue in the face, but SIO is the better sounding converter IMHO and the functionality smokes the Avid. I think Avid did an incredible...

Re: A Waves HDX solution...

I think that's where the rub is. The two choices were "Native" or "TDM" (tedium as my buddy Mitch describes it). "TDM" was synonymous with AVID's DSP cards because it was the technology employed. ...

Re: Voice usage with AAE

That's what I am afraid of. I really don't need even 128 tracks but because of losing voices to native plugs, I'll need to rethink the stem mixer I use to print stems and composites. Do you know if...

Re: Voice usage with AAE

128 @ 96k. I have had zero clients at 48k in the last 5 years and haven't recorded at a 1x sample rate in a decade. 1x sample rates might be a delivery standard but it is definitely not an accepted...

Re: Voice usage with AAE

That was my experience on the last mix I did in the box. I actually got a better track count from my laptop with HD10 running in native mode than from the HDX. The HDX offered DSP for some DSP...
