Re: Open Mix & Edit as Tabs in single window (Mac)

Oh okay, point taken. But if you work on multiple monitors the window switching shortcut must be pretty familiar to you, right?

Re: -9129 error w/ HD Native Card and Pro Tool 2019.10

Re: Open Mix & Edit as Tabs in single window (Mac)

Re: Can anyone help? Protools stuck on offline bounce

Hi, welcome to the community.

So what exactly is happening? You have a session which you can bounce realtime but cannot bounce offline, right?

Re: AAX (Dsp) & AAX Native (Daw Cpu) ?

It all comes down to gain staging. TDM as a 48bit fixed-point architecture was very strict, because once you went over you immediately heard it and could fix it on the spot. AAX on the other hand is...

Re: -9129 error w/ HD Native Card and Pro Tool 2019.10

For troubleshooting purposes, use one interface at a time and report back. We need to first and foremost make sure each individual interface works solo and only after that interested in possible...

Re: -9129 error w/ HD Native Card and Pro Tool 2019.10

Avid started to sell the DigiLink license so they could get money out of 3rd party interface users, which means the...

Re: Bouncing multi tracks (individually?) at the same time

I think it is Ultimate-only feature but you can have more than one bounce source on a single bounce job. But as I said, before that you need to have multiple bounce sources (outputs) and not just...

Re: Bouncing multi tracks (individually?) at the same time

This is as close as you can get with the OP intention. But then you need some batch processing to change bit depth and/or sample rate.

Re: Bouncing multi tracks (individually?) at the same time

First of all, you can only bounce outputs, not tracks. So if you wish to bounce your 20 tracks you need to have 20 outputs set for your tracks. If you haven't set it up like that in your mix, you...

Re: How to determine correct level of Wave form?

^^this, and levels can safely be much lower, because 24bit WAV has 144dB dynamics so even if you used 120dB of it you would still have 24dB headroom. Whatever sounds good when you mix is good. Better...

Re: How to determine correct level of Wave form?

True. Which is why I master to even -3dBFS when the material has very low RMS (a.k.a. not punchy) because of the end user DA cannot handle top 3dB very well.

Re: When to let it go????

You can always ask for feedback, as in "what were the biggest problems with this mix" -- especially so, if you are using same ME from time to time. Everything is always easier to fix in the mix, so...

Sometimes (if you have the time and are a bit bored) it is also good to do this in purpose. Just take an old song and mix it again from the scratch. Notice yow your skills...

Re: When to let it go????

Trust what he says.

Even if you had "infinite" time available and wanted to do your best, your ears get biased when you listen to the material long period of time. You are always hunging something...

Re: How to determine correct level of Wave form?

Have you considered using the K-14 meter for master? It may be better suited for you.

Re: AAX (Dsp) & AAX Native (Daw Cpu) ?

Yes and there is no difference in sound, compared to RTAS/TDM era when one was 32float and another was 48fixed
