So now 1 year on and no change whatsoever. Tried all the updates from Avid and suggestions from other users to "trick" PT 11 into loading the video engine. Nada... PT 10 is still fine.

Doubt it, Logic X video is fine as well as various other DAWs on various Mac OS versions.

Holding "n" key displays Playback Engine which defaults to "Pro Tools Aggregate I/O, I then change it to "HDSPe AIO" which is my RME card I've used with all PT versions before. Then display changes...

Tried the list of instructions. On launch PT quits after "initializing controllers" every time. Cannot boot into PT anymore. Never had this before.

I also did the same, to no avail. Had to use Logic instead.

Strange thing is that Drew Mazurek (on this forum) can get it to work with his 2008 Mac Pro (exactly the same as one of my machines).

With mine I cannot, it asks to enable the video engine and then pauses forever.
