Re: CoreAudio Manager - Not Connected (HW in use)

I'm an idiot. I pulled my three PCI cards out of my Mac to clean out some dust and mistakenly plugged the interface cable into the wrong card. All is well again with it connected to the Core card.

CoreAudio Manager - Not Connected (HW in use)

I recently upgraded from PT 10.3.8 / OS 10.8.5 to PT 10.3.10 / OS 10.9.5. I know Mavericks is not an officially supported OS for PT 10, but I upgraded after reading success stories here and having...

Valhalla Plate sounds great

This plug-in just came out a couple of weeks ago. I bought it today and it sounds beautiful. I'm a big plate fan and after playing with it for a little while it's putting a big smile on my face. This...

Re: Control 24-Want to remove side panels and armrest for resurfacing

My Control|24 is an Argosy console so although the sides have also gotten a little tacky, they haven't accumulated the crazy amount of dust that the armrest did. They're not really exposed so it...

Re: Control 24-Want to remove side panels and armrest for resurfacing

The armrest is semi-shiny black plastic. Here's a pic that I think is representative of how it actually looks.

Re: Control 24-Want to remove side panels and armrest for resurfacing

I recently removed the rubber coating from my armrest. Like pretty much everyone else's, mine had become a tacky dust magnet. I used a total of three Scotch Brite "No Scratch" sponges...

Re: Superior Drummer crashing - Help with crash report

Since I think I've solved my Superior Drummer issue with the uninstall/re-install, perhaps I'll stay with PT 10.3.8. I appreciate all the input.

Re: Superior Drummer crashing - Help with crash report

The one thing I've noticed since going from Pro Tools 10.3.2 on OS 10.7.x to Pro Tools 10.3.8 on OS 10.8.5 is a dramatic increase in CPU overload errors which I would rarely see prior to upgrading....

Re: Superior Drummer crashing - Help with crash report

Sorry, as soon as I replied I saw my mistake and edited the post. I meant Pro Tools 10.3.10, not OS 10.10. My question was about the general consensus on stability of PT 10.3.10 vs 10.3.8. Sorry for...

Re: Superior Drummer crashing - Help with crash report

Thanks for taking the time to look at this. I had read about some people here having memory issues with PT 10.3.10 so I've stayed on 10.3.8. What's the general consensus on 10.10 these days,...

Superior Drummer crashing - Help with crash report

I've been experiencing crashes running the RTAS version of Superior Drummer 2.4.3 (latest) with PT HD 10.3.8 (full system specs are in my sig below). I've had a good run of reliability, but lately...

Finally considering upgrading from Altiverb 6 to 7 and was hoping to get some impressions on two of the new features, the bright and modulation functions. Are they effective in adding an algorithmic...

Re: ilok2 issue

I bought my first iLok2 and it only lasted two weeks. It started flashing and would no longer be recognized. It was plugged into a USB 2.0 hub along with my three other first gen iLoks. Fortunately,...

Re: Since upgrading to Lion, MIDI interface doesn't work

My Digi MIDI I/O is working with 10.7.4, but it had stopped working after upgrading to Lion. To get it working again, I had to re-install the driver.

Re: OS X Lion crash

Just installed some RAM in my early 2008 Mac Pro and if you have more than 4 memory sticks, riser A should be full.

For example:
4 memory sticks: (2) on riser A, (2) on Riser B
6 memory sticks:...

Re: Help Midi Setup Hangs in Lion

After my update to 9.0.6 and Lion 10.7.2, PT would hang for a while at "Setting up midi" during launch, but it still eventually launched. That was remedied by removing some old Midi drivers in...

Re: Whoo-hoo Lion installed and Pro Tools is working

Like you, I also put off the Lion upgrade for a long time and I finally took the plunge a week or so ago. It's been a really smooth upgrade so far. I've done a bunch of mixing, opened old sessions...

Re: How's PT9 been for you and should I upgrade?

I was able to find a boxed PT9 HD upgrade so I grabbed it. At the very least, it should make my eventual upgrade to 10 cheaper.

So now my question is, what's the most stable version of PT 9 for...

How's PT9 been for you and should I upgrade?

I'm on a pretty stable PT 8/Snow Leopard system (details in my sig), but with the current PT 10 pricing, I'm considering grabbing a PT 9 HD upgrade if I can find one to hold me over and to give me...

Re: It's simple: don't upgrade.

Exactly and in this case, it's over 300%. I've been a PT user since Sound Designer 2, then a Mix+ system and now an HD3. My previous software-only upgrades for my Mix+ and HD systems were around $300...
