That's part of the prob. Chrome is a hog. I only use Chrome for flash-based sites (since I don't have flash installed on my Mac). My main browser is Safari. If need be, I'll use Firefox as my backup...

As I had stated in my previous post, it only worked for Logic/Ableton. I never said anything about using it for iTunes/etc.

While the 11.x drivers do work, they still cause kernel_task to spike while the interface is connected/used which is why I suggest staying with 10.3.3. That's the only version that...

I know this is an mBox thread, however I was able to get my 002r working on El Capitan using the old 10.3.3 drivers. Maybe using an older mBox driver might work for other people.

What version number? If you're using 11.x, you need to check one thing.....when your 002 is plugged in, check kernel_task under CPU tab in activity monitor. Is it spiking? If so, that could lead to...

I'm 98% sure I tried this and got the cpu spike. Also, I do not use PT. I'm just using my 002r as an interface for Logic/Ableton on my MBP late 2011 model running OS X 10.10.1 w/ 16GB RAM.

That driver does work, however you'll notice that when you have the interface plugged in, kernel task shoots up in cpu usage (unless they recently updated the driver). You can see it in Activity...

Are you using a midi keyboard with USB or are you trying to use the midi inputs on the interface? If the latter, not sure it will work. I use a USB keyboard or I use an external midi interface...

I believe so, however you should be able to reinstall PT and pickup where you left off.

Again this is all speculation as I don't use PT. I'm only using my 002r interface to work with logic/ableton...

I never presented this as a solution for Pro Tools, or anything for that matter. Just sharing what I did to get the interface recognized by Logic/Ableton (as stated in the OP).
