contact support @ PT and they can send you another harness. It's an easy install.
However I had a harness problem once, but what your describing I never went through.

I have had this same problem. When you make the new aux track, there is a fader that controls incoming volume. Make sure that the new fader is up to 0.

Have you made sure that you have midi cables going to and from your synth or virtual instrument? It seems simple but this can can be overlooked.
