I´ve been in touch with the Avid support ( for the first time ever ) and there was no solution for the CPU spikes at this time.
Problems with " Dynamic Plug In processing "

I had terrible CPU spikes on all buffer settings with PT 12.8 on the HDN card.
Very often a session opened with all plug ins greyed out . Maybe just a bad release, but i sold it and went back to TDM

yes, the MCI is a classic inline design like most of the SSL / Neve etc. consoles since the 80ies

With the Aurora PCIe i need a Mac with PCIe slots or some kind of...

With an interface like the Apogee Thunderbolt on a M1/M2 Mac
are there any disadvantages in terms of latency / stability compared to an old HD system ?

I never had a chance to test a native rig...

Exactly, just like a tape machine
all monitoring, the mix buss, headphone cues etc. happen "behind" Pro Tools
so latency is very important to me

Dynamic Plug In Processing - 9173 etc.

Try to insert an Avid "Simple Gate"
at the end of every Plug In chain / on every channel

and watch your CPU meter !

My best guess is,
a lot of Plug Ins produce some kind of "analog noise" ...

and can't figure out , how to install TL-Space on my rig

Used the 9.0.2 for ML - TDM installer

I got an active license on an iLok,
