With HT ON the system in general (mostly UI I think) really does feel a bit snappier. It doesn't seem to boot any faster, though.

One thing I see that is not right is speed stepping. Pro Tools doesn't like it, but I don't recall what visible problems it causes.

If you *must* use DVD's for backup, make sure to turn verify on when burning them. Even then I wouldn't trust them 100%.
