does anyone actually know why it is that the whole 29.97 thing was even created. I mean why didn't the NTSC just stick to 30 fps from the beginning. Are there really any advantages to it???

does anyone in audio post production still use 2" or other analog formats at all... I mean aside from the editing aspect which digital obviously wins hands down, is the quality and final product...
