Re: Quicktime reference movies & Editshare

Re: Recording Dolby E into Protools

Eric,
Interesting #3?
We always encoded the stream 1 frame early on the tape for Monitoring. We ran the digital outputs of the 572 thru a DA88 (D-A converters) to monitor. This allowed accurate...

Re: LFE SFX Library

Never thought of an LFE sound effects library?

Usually LFE is routed out of standard sounds and perhaps "enhanced" a little! Specific LFE effects (except for explosions) is an...

Re: Recording Dolby E into Protools

Good Point Georgia,
The Broadcaster should send you a spec sheet on their requirements. This will inform you as to bit depth, Track layout (5.1 - 5.1+2 -etc), and level specs.
I have been doing...

Re: Recording Dolby E into Protools

Digibeta has 2 AES inputs (4 tracks = 2 DDE Streams). In fact a 5.1+2 (DDE actually has 8 tracks of audio) - so you got even more channels.

Re: Recording Dolby E into Protools

Chris,
Can you clarify exactly what you are trying to do?

Are you going to record the DD-E Stream into ProTools (from 571) for decoding or, are you going to record the decoded 5.1 channels to PT...

Re: NTSC-PAL audio conversions....

Sorry,

I tend to over-react when I get a hint that ac3 is being misused.
It would be interesting to find out WHY Kelly wants to do this?

Re: NTSC-PAL audio conversions....

I would suggest that you DO NOT decode ac3 and import into ProTools. Remember AC3 is a LOSSY COMPRESSION so full audio is lost in the original encode. This can never be regained. In essence it...
