That was the case in earlier versions too (Protools 12.x, S6 2.1)

"Write to all enabled", as it says, write automation to all enabled parameters in the automation window. So you will have to enable volume only if you don't want to erase...

You'll have to sort clips by "Timeline order".
As this feature does not exists, the trick is to sort the clips by "User time stamp" and timestamp all the clips with their current timeline timecode....
