All my media are on a RAID. When I moved the files that I had trouble with to another drive it works fine.

Hello!

Yes I have tried that.
The problem is a little bit random, sometimes there is no problem importing and sometimes it's just pink noise all over the place...

Have you checked all the hardware?
Use Apple Hardware Test that's on the installation DVD for your Mac Pro.

Yes, 7.4.2 is the version you must have to run ProTools on OSX 10.5.5.

Before I switched to my new mac I was running ProTools LE 6.4 Digi001 on a PowerMac QuickSilver 800MHz with OSX 10.3.9.
And it was working fine (with not to large sessions with not to many plug-ins).

I can really recomend Reason (not because it´s made in Sweden and I'm swedish) for music production.
Great sound and great ways to work, with or without ProTools, usually I use it as ReWire through...

What kind of video are you editing?
If it is SD video you don't need to RAID your drives, but if you are working with HD video it's recomended to use RAID (RAID 0 or 5 depending on how many drives...
