Re: Softube Sale! 50% Off Volume 4

I guess the Weiss Limiter is the first one I am after. The rest of the Weiss are nice to have of course!

I have the Dynamite from way back. I can't say I use it much. I think the new version might...

Re: Is it safe (enough) to jump from Mojave to Catalina?

Surely many plugins are still not Catalina compatible?

It seems as it some may never make the cut?

Softube Sale! 50% Off Volume 4

I'm normally pretty scathing of Softube prices. They have some nice products and some OK ones but generally I find the sales prices often not tempting at all.

Anyhow, 50% off Volume 4 is a deal...

Re: 33 day countdown! Time to stick?

Kudos to Avid getting Catalina compatibility but to be honest it means more to them with ongoing sales to new Catalina only Macs than it does to me!

Many plugins are still not Catalina ready and...

Re: No Mix Knob in Studio Rack

Agreed. This was the first thing I looked for and was found absent

StudioRack is good. However, the v11 has lost compatibility in some areas from the previous version and needs to...

Re: 33 day countdown! Time to stick?

The whole Apple ARM thing is an interesting point but that said I haven't bought any brand new Apple Macs is years. They too are wildly overpriced and not really made significant progress.

The...

Re: 33 day countdown! Time to stick?

Good point, understood!

Then again I'm also growing weary of the Apple tax so I have been sticking there too. Things have been going downhill there since Steve Jobs died. Lack of innovation and...

33 day countdown! Time to stick?

I've been a long time Pro Tools user. I bought pretty much every version since v5. In fact, at one time I was paying for the updates of both the TDM and LE versions! Since the TDM rig went I have...

Re: Converting SD2 files to wav on mac

Pro Tools 10 is you friend! I tried other methods and failed.

I boot an old hard drive and run it from there. You'll need a compatible system and PT10 in your iLok.

Re: How Is Sample Rounding STILL A THING

A lot of this pain can be alleviated by using the Loop Tool (at the bottom under Standard and TCE) rather than the duplicate or repeat commands.

I switched to it a few years back and haven't...

Re: HDX or Native in this scenario

I've been with Pro Tools native for yearly 20 years. I've never had an issue with latency for recording, especially as native power has come on leaps and bounds and buffer sizes can drop accordingly....

Re: Arturia Mellotron issues

I'm still on V6 so no Mellotron here yet. However, have you tried a higher buffer setting? Also, a new Session with just the Mellotron and the associated MIDI data?

Re: Advice needed: Upgrading Mac OS + PT for first time in years

Agreed. I do that will all my old drives. You can always hook them up if you need something or indeed boot from them as required. You will want to keep PT 10 if you need to open older Sessions,...

Re: Arturia - NI - IKM

It should be noted, if you have a Komplete Kontrol keyboard then that is a pretty elegant solution when paired with NI products and indeed, those form Arturia and others via the NKS standard. Even if...

Re: Alternative(s) for AIR Instruments?

Unless you have a new Mac then there's no rush to update.

Re: OB-Xa V from Arturia

It's to do with cost as I mentioned. For that reason I generally find being an early adopter costly, as I do find with buying every upgrade.

Take Arturia for example. Their upgrades from V...
