Re: Feature Request: New Take On the Fly

Fantastic idea. And it's exactly what I would do if I weren't already using markers for the starts of takes. Very handy when you're on take 114 and someone says "Lemme hear take 9." ...

Re: Feature Request: New Take On the Fly

That's fine for a defined chunk of territory on the timeline, but not really applicable to what I'm talking about.

Feature Request: New Take On the Fly

I record a lot of VO, radio dialogue, animation, etc., and sometimes it's essential to always be in record. I'd like to be able create new takes without having to stop and start.

Re: Creating the \'outside\' sound

Since this is your 2nd post in 8 years, welcome back!

A caution: in general, the folks around here are extra nice. But you'll get flamed if you don't use the Search function. In this case, use...

Re: Turning Studio VO into \"On Location\" Sound

If the location in question is outdoors, try "worldizing" it. Set up an Auratone or the like outdoors and mic it. I've done this several times and it's always amazing to me how the result doesn't...

Re: Need TV Spot Mixing Advice...

Okay... I think I get it.

You work at a trailer house and they've given you a narration track consisting of a zillion bits and pieces compiled from all the revisions (which were probably...

Re: So any feedback on the new C24?

I never went for the Control 24 (and stayed with a HUI) for these reasons:

1. It was too wide. I like a small mixer footprint and lots of flat desk space (for scripts/take sheets/lunch/etc.)
2....

Re: Getting Practice with Sound Design/ Soundtracks..??

The LA craigslist is full of beginning filmmakers looking for people exactly like you. You're obviously not in LA, but all you really need is an ftp of some sort, a thick skin and a sense of humor.

Re: Broadcast emulation?

At our place, we use one of those iPod FM car transmitters (driven by the headphone box). We have a bunch of little battery-operated retro-looking toy radios that we hand out and the clients can sit...

Re: Dear Digi, please give us a \'CANCEL\' button when reshuff

Pardon the semi-hijack, but the same thing applies when you move a region from a track with fully-automated plugs to a track where the same plugs aren't automated. PT throws up a prompt for every...

Re: Features that you would like to be able to disable

Re: Input Audio Vs. Playback Very Different 192 I|O

This makes no sense -- you're listening to the same AD<>DA conversion either way -- the only difference is whether it's while you're playing, or later.

Which leads me to this: when you record,...

An input-monitoring improvement

But that's a two-handed move, it seems like an extra step, and if you want to switch out of...

Re: Suggestion for Trim & Grabber Tools

Lord knows I've tried to use it. And as a client at other facilities I've seen lots of other folks use it exclusively, and sometimes fairly efficiently.

But for me, the main problem with the...

Re: Suggestion for Trim & Grabber Tools

I agree when it comes to Shuffle Mode. But with the Trimmer & Grabber, I use all of the modes quite a bit, and I really hate having to use dropdown menus unneccessarily, because of both speed and...
