I use Cubase 5 for the same reason, and because PLAY is not 64bit RTAS.

On my system: In PT, EWQL Yamaha C7 Piano idles @ 7% CPU usage @ 64 buffer. Start playing and the meter goes to 17-20%....

This is kinda where I am, and I've hawked at HD ever since becoming a LE,M-P customer. But this is cool. There will always be those that just will not pay a certain amount even for a software daw....

Pro Tools uses RTAS plugins only. Fxpansion makes an adapter to use VST in Pro Tools. Not sure if there is one for the Sonar DXi format.
