You will have to go into the Clip List and delete the video from there.

View>OtherDisplays>ClipList [or just hit the arrow at the bottom right of the edit window]. Hit the arrow at the top right...

Actually there is, if you go to preferences and enable Tool Tips then hover your mouse over the Disk Cache bar in the System Usage menu, it will show you the total size of all audio on your timeline....

Your disk cache should only really be set just above the actual size of your session. So if there is only 480MB worth of active audio on your timeline, you should set it to '512MB', if there's 1.8GB;...
