Thanks Tetsuo, I gave it a try, but still can't change it in Pro Tools.

I can't budge the number of samples from 256 in the Setup Playback Engine dialog. Here's what it looks like...

I've got the AC97 motherboard selected in sounds and Audio devices, but still unable to get the Playback engine setting for Pro tools (8.0.4) to move off of 256 for Fast Track Pro. What's the next...

I believe there is support in the midi spec for Lyrics (as an event) where text data can be entered. If protools added support for the lyrics midi event, this should solve this problem.
