Thanks Sean, but for some reason alt+1 turns on shuffle mode for me, not the Time Ops window. Also, opening the time ops window... not much of a shortcut. I really need one keystroke for Cut Time....

It seems that the problem with doing this is the myriad functions I want to execute within edit mode that the tracks need to not be grouped together for. For instance, in slip mode I strip (silence)...
