Re: HDX on Catalina

2019.12 was obviously rushed release to get initial Catalina support out. Just update to 2020.3 which everyone seems to be liking

Re: Midi Issue

Yes, that is the window.

Read this page (https://support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/audio-midi-setup/ams875bae1e0/mac) and go from there.

Re: Midi Issue

It is in the Audio MIDI Setup app you already had open. Have it active (it says which application is active right next to Apple logo on menu bar) and then click on the Window menu

Re: 2020.3 on Mac Pro 5.1, High Sierra?

Yes but the FW update is specifically about NVMe hard drives that won't fit in Cheesegrater without a special PCIe catd to host them. What you have is a SATA SSD and it looks you need to find a...

Re: Just bought Pro tools but now need to use PT10

iLok License Manager will tell you exactly which licenses you have. You need to see Pro Tools 10 there, if you don't then you don't have it.

Re: 2020.3 on Mac Pro 5.1, High Sierra?

I think it will ask you anyway, but the update is related to NVMe SSD and you need a special PCIe card to use those in a Cheesegrater. High Sierra should install with or without upgrade, and once...

Re: 2020.3 on Mac Pro 5.1, High Sierra?

Sure, but firmware update is not necessary for GPU upgrade so you can just as well prepare your cheesegrater for later. Or just stay put, nothing wrong in that

Re: 2020.3 on Mac Pro 5.1, High Sierra?

How would GPU upgrade be a problem? If it doesn't work you can always switch the old GPU back...

Re: 2020.3 is out

it is not automatic. you only get automatic buss for "Folder1" for example, but you need to manually change routing of a track inside the folder

Re: 2020.3 on Mac Pro 5.1, High Sierra?

High Sierra firmware update is about NVMe support and what I hear (no first hand experience as my MP is a trashcan) support for NVMe is much better in Mojave. If you have Metal compatible GPU I would...

Re: Directly to PT 2020 from 12.8.3?

2020.3 is much better choice because of new features and bug fixes, but also because 2019.12 was obviously rushed release for those of us who needed initial Catalina compatibility.
