Kensington Trackball Works

Just a heads up for Trackball users, the new trackball 1.0 software does not include application settings only global settings. I like to have different settings or Pro-Tools, Melodyne, Desektop etc...

Had a strange issue today, I was manually placing an analysis marker within some comped regions and when I placed a certain marker it would change my region comp. It looked like the placed marker...

Re: Delay compensation has me buffaloed

I have a similar issue, when I use EZE drummer. I quantize all the drums and bounce them down to audio tracks and they are always 1180 samples ahead of the beat, so I use time adjuster on my audio...

Re: Pro Tools 8.0.1 is "CRASHING" over and over

I have 2 computers with 8.0.1 and Leopard, one HD3 and one HD7 with expansion chassis, they both run great.

Could it be bad cards or bad ram or even bad OS install?

Re: here are some things which you can`t get from a plugin

One thing I can't do with Analog gear that I can do with plug-ins.

1. Get home at reasonable time and have a life outside a studio.:D

Re: Cannot zoom in to sample level / 8cs2

I've had this happen as well same versions as the posts above. Sometimes I've found there is a hidden region way at the end of the session, past the boundary wall that if you highlight and delete,...

Re: Elastic Audio sonic quality

I find that EA does sound pretty bad on acoustic guitars specifically. So what I normally do is set all my own markers get rid of all the junk, put up with the "poly" setting artifacts until I like...

Re: Latency Compensation

Almost every app I can think of has it. I use PT to make money as well and to say LE doesn't need it for that reason is silly.

Re: BOUNCE!

I don't really know, a bounce should be the same the PT mix sounds when the session is up. When you select bounce, what outputs is the bounce assigned to? Maybe it's bouncing from a buss instead out...

Re: No signal through right channel in headphones.

If you have a stereo mic, then it should have a cable that splits and allows you to plug the mic into inputs one and two. If you only plugging in one physical input, you'll only get one side. What is...

Re: Mac Mixes!!!!!!!!

I tracked the drums here http://www.greenhouse-studios.com/studio1.html on the SSL G series onto Radar. The rest was done on my 002. I used an Apogee AD 800, a Millenia STT1 and a UA 6176 for...

Re: new region while in record?

I think the safest way to go is using Markers to number the takes. Then chop the regions after.

If you want to build a grid, tab to each Snare on the 2 and 4...

Re: NY/Parallel Compression - Questions

that probably has to do with phase between the toms and overhead mics. try adusting the panning or fliping the phase of the toms to see if there is any improvment.

Re: Is it possible to remove digital distortion?

if it's clipped that bad you may be kinda screwed. Cause that's probably the diaphram of the little mic getting hammered. The clipping is recorded right to the source, lowering the gain won't really...

Re: NY/Parallel Compression - Questions

The technique I've seen used most (usually on SSL boards) is all your tracks are routed eq'd and compressed to your taste to the master. Then a buss sends all the drums to a stereo comp with faster...
