The clips bin currently had a "Find" active (Command + Shift + F) aparently you can't rename clips while this is active.

double clicking the clip allows for a rename but Command + Shift + R does not work.

Fair enough, though with the competition the way it is I could see avid become purely a software company and dump their hardware division. I think 3rd party hardware support was the first step...

I get that from a hard business point of view. It's just in the modern software industry extended support is becoming a trend. It would be nice to see avid follow suit.

Promote Selection: Control + Option + V

i do agree however that there should be an option to just playback selection (until then you could just use the scrub tool)

I agree that fade files can be annoying but i don't know if removing is the best option. Maybe have a Fade cache file like the waveform cache file or something along those lines but really think...

When I was at the Pro Tools 8 Demo i saw a feature where you pressed a key while loading a session and it disabled plugins to prevent sessions from crashing. Unfortuantely I can't remember the key....

Just an update. I uninstalled pro tools, and reinstalled it again with the 002 instead of the mbox attached with the hopes that it might pull different drivers. No change in the results.

Here is the situation. I have 2 computers, a Sony Vaio laptop and a home made desktop. For my interfaces i have a DIGI 002 Rack and an Mbox micro.

Desktop + 002R + Pro Tools 8(or 7) = Works...

There are multiple things that can cause an access violation. Essentially an access violention means that the system is trying to read or write to a file that is in use elsewhere and cannot be used....
