Re: One Cause - DAE Error (-9073)

Hi guys,

I found that 32-bit float sessions error out long before they should. Logic Audio will run a session with 4 to 5 times the track count (on the same machine, no plugins).

So, now, when...

Re: Drive Management... there must be an easier way

I second the use of a 10'000 rpm drive (Seagate Cheetah's are also great). No matter how you slice it, splitting a session among multiple drives is going to be a maintenance nightmare.

Re: Pro Tools 7 - analog warmth

Whether you use outboard gear or use ITB plugins, warming individual channels is going to have a different feel than warming the final 2-track mix.

Re: Using UAD1e card plugins steals all my Native RTAS CPU

Have you tried another DAW on the same machine for comparison?

Could the UAD be struggling with your new machine? Could it be PT and UAD not playing nice with one another?

Re: Canyon or Valley IR for TL Space or Waves IR-L?

Instead of waiting on a reflection, you could consider the point source as the first reflection. This would require modification of your traditional IR capturing process but would provide an IR which...

Re: Can someone tell me please? Can't find the info nowhere?

Lots of mixes are dependent on what the client is looking for. And, if they already have something hot going then no radical departures are taken :-)

I engineer for Deep from time to time and am...

Re: Can someone tell me please? Can't find the info nowhere?

Mixing: Dave Pensado and Jaycen Joshua.

Chris "Deep" Henderson produced and co-wrote the song.

AllMusic.com has mixing credit info for many songs (not this one, though).

Re: Using UAD1e card plugins steals all my Native RTAS CPU

Really? I am able to fully max out our UAD1 (PCIe) in PTHD8 with virtually no additional RTAS load on a Quad Core.

You may want to give UA a call...

Re: New HD Hardware..... ever?

Don't forget that VST/VSTi is cross-platform. So, that is not the heart of the problem.

Also, saying that RTAS sucks is a fairly wide statement. I find that only RTAS instruments grossly under...

Re: New HD Hardware..... ever?

Agreed, except that I would say RTAS with DSP picking up the slack - given the power of today's computers.

Re: Freeze Tracks

@EvilElfBoy

Yes, AL's impl beats out Logic's.

IMHO, offline bouncing is not a necessary component for Freeze. So, if PT implements Freeze in an upcoming version, offline bouncing need not...

Re: Freeze Tracks

Logic's Freeze functionality is elegant. Click the snowflake for the desired tracks and hit play. Logic then renders the tracks in-place, disables DSP usage for those tracks and seamlessly plays the...

Yes, but the problem lies in not knowing what to name the track 'until' one of its regions have been heard.

Some instrumental tracks can sometimes be figured out by its waveform (kick, snare,...

Re: How much AC power do I need? How many amps?

"Typical" is too relative since each setup is running a different set of gear.

Best bet is to do what Chris suggested and add up the power requirements for your particular gear (leaving some room...
