Re: PT Crashes every time I reduce playback buffer

Hi, It could be a matter of too many processes running at the same time, or not a powerful enough computer - impossible to guess without much more info on your setup. Have you gone through everything...

Re: Automation doesn't follow fade adjustment.

So moving or adjusting the fade must not be considered an "edit" by design.

Re: No "slide" edit with mouse?

Gotcha - Yeah doesn't look like there's a way to do that, but it's easy enough (for me, at least) to drag the clip and reset the boundaries.

Re: No "slide" edit with mouse?

Of course - it's called Slip mode. Toggle edit modes with the ~ key. This is a very basic function of Pro Tools - I toggle modes all day long!

Re: Automation doesn't follow fade adjustment.

Hi, Crossfades are separate from automation and are applied to the clip, so you won't see a fader move during a crossfade. "Automation Follows Edit" has to do with whether or not the automation...

Re: PT crash after bounce

My first guess would be a plugin issue - you might try some test bounces with all instances of a particular plugin deactivated to see if it still crashes after bouncing. Of course, if it happens with...

Re: Replace Clip Issue

Wow that seems like a pain too. I actually use an ancient program called Beat Quantizer that will replace clips with new samples at a matched volume - though it can be tedious too. I've had varying...

Re: Replace Clip Issue

Something to keep in mind when replacing drums is whether or not you want to use the same sample all the way though at the same volume? It's much more realistic to use different samples throughout...

Re: Replace Clip Issue

Yeah I'd like that functionality too, but I don't think Replace Clip is designed to work that way. From the Reference Manual:

"Use the Replace Clip function to replace multiple instances of an...

Re: Miking up a Banjo

All the more reason to listen to it in the room before miking it, though I didn't see anything about using just 1 mic.

Re: Pro Tools 2019.6 (Win 10) starts itself?

Sounds like an issue with ProTools on Windows 10? Just a shot in the dark - maybe ProTools is crashing (possibly while deactivating a plugin) when closing and Windows is automatically restarting it?...

I think it's just the ProTools Prefs file. Can you post a screenshot of the error message?

Re: Miking up a Banjo

Listen to it in the room first and see how it sounds - if you don't like the sound, see what you or the player can do to improve it. Use 2 or 3 mics in different locations and see what sounds best -...

Re: Elastic audio not committing

Yes, and to add to that - don't process EA on tracks with large areas of blank audio. Cut them into separate clips and consolidate each individual clip first.

I also don't commit X-form on a bunch...
