Can't change hw/buffer size in protools

What's up! When I was using PT9 I was able to change the hw/buffer size under setup. However, once I upgraded to PT11 (also got a new AMD Ryzen 1700 computer too), when I try to change my buffer...

Re: Pro Tools 11 and AMD Ryzen CPU's

I'm pretty rock solid at 32 and 64 ms buffers. I haven't noticed any issues. I also don't really have high plugin intensive sessions at that low of a buffer. Any mixing I do will be at max buffer...

Re: Pro Tools 11 and AMD Ryzen CPU's

I had the same situation, going from an old computer to a Ryzen 1700. Big difference noticed for sure. Either way I went, Ryzen or Intel, would have been an upgrade, came down to price for me. And...

Re: Pro Tools 11 and AMD Ryzen CPU's

I've been using protools 11 off and on for more than a month now, no issues. I have the Ryzen 1700. I'm liking it a lot.

Re: Pro Tools 11 and AMD Ryzen CPU's

I'd be interested to see that redone with the 3200/3600 MHz RAM, if it wasn't...and if it would make a difference.

Re: Pro Tools 11 and AMD Ryzen CPU's

Would the type (MHz) of the RAM affect this bench test? Or is it strictly on the CPU?

Re: Pro Tools 11 and AMD Ryzen CPU's

Yeah, his was the Xeon, my post was the Ryzen. Either way, my new computer is gonna eat my 2007 1,1 Mac Pro for lunch and dinner.

I am too. I'm not sure where you are getting the speed from? What comparison chart, and is it comparing Intel to Ryzen?

Re: Pro Tools 11 and AMD Ryzen CPU's

I saw that video. It seems that the Ryzen builds would be serving extremely well those folks like me who have a home studio setup and aren't mixing big movies and huge productions, atleast not yet...

Re: Pro Tools 11 and AMD Ryzen CPU's

Thanks for that. But I just want to get it and start working with it. That's the only way I'll know for sure how good it is/will be.

Re: Pro Tools 11 and AMD Ryzen CPU's

I paid 329 for my Ryzen 1700 non-overclocked 3.0Ghz processor. The 10 core Intel processor lists for $1600.00, if that puts it into perspective.
