First thing I'd do is start a brand new session and import the session data into the new session. I've had issues in the past where I feel a session has some inbuilt issue and this has resolved it. ...

Yeah that's something I need to consider. I run an Apogee Symphony with the PCIe 64 card. I'd need a thunderbolt to PCIe chassis for that and my UAD Octo PCIe card. That's another £300 or so.

As a workaround, I installed Pro Tools 2019.12 again and it's working for that as I have a valid license on my iLok.

You may have to uninstall Pro Tools entirely and run the old installer though...
