Do you have a working clone you can go back to? You should. Always make a clone then disconnect it from the computer BEFORE making changes. That way you can go back in time. I keep my clone drive...

With a 1.3 GHz cpu you won't get much work done in PT. You want something more in the range of 3 GHz. If it's a speed-stepping cpu that will be a problem as well. Suggestion: use the current machine...

If you prudently saved all your installers to a safe place then it shouldn't take weeks or even a week. Maybe a day or two at the longest. Been there/done that before.

Not seeing that problem at all. Have you checked that your keyboard isn't sending out some strange messages using one of the utility programs I mentioned? I find them valuable in chasing down MIDI...

Yeah - you have to be careful with these. When changing these also take into account the canvas color behind the grid lines. You can get into some combos that just don't work as you've found out ;)
