Re: P4 and Protools and Digi001 and OS and RAM

According to MS, none of the Windows 9x products will recognize for than 512Megs. There is a fix, though. A shareware program called Cacheman will fix the problem. Also MS has a fix for it. Go to...

Re: Please Help me, DIGI (error 9019 & 9073)...

Are you using 5.01 or 5.1? The reason is I had the same problem with 5.01. It seemed to occur during the tail end of lengthy projects. I am a sound editor and noticed the problem about 30 minutes...

Re: TOO MUCH RAM????

I saw considerable improvement when I increased from 256 to 512. Playback and DAE buffers were lessened (improved). I experienced a lot better response in PT 5.01. Regarding 5.1, I have seen even...

Re: TOO MUCH RAM????

You're absolututely right. Thanks for the CACHE. I have found that adding more BYTES really HERTZ. Incidently, I would still strongly recommend using the Cacheman 4.0 utility, even with the 512 MB....

Re: TOO MUCH RAM????

The problem arises when using MORE than 512Mhz in any Windows O.S. For a fix to this, please read my posting above.

Re: TOO MUCH RAM????

I just got done installing 768 Mhz of RAM with Windows ME. Here's what MS website had to say:

Actually, there is a problem with ME, 98se, 98 and 95 and large amounts of ram, and like everything...

Re: Q: about samplers....

I never thought of using PTLE as my sampler. I didn't know it was possible. I just purchased the Giga 96 along with the Adv. Orchestra library. Sounds great! I have recently upgraded to a PIII 1 Gig...

5.1 Keyboard Preferences

I mostly use Pro Tools for editing dialog audio. While I welcome the new hot key capabilities for Zoom pre-sets, I find it rather cumbersome to reach the keys under the current configuration (Windows...

I tried bouncing to SDII, but was informed I needed to a Mac formatted drive. My question is: for those of us who don't have Macs what good is this option? Is it possible to have a Mac formatted...
