That has not been my experience. And OSes write log files like woah. There was an issue with older, badly-designed controllers that only let the drive delete pages instead of blocks…so lots of small...

There's nothing Avid can do to qualify them. To software, they work the same way as every hard drive……just faster.

I've been using an older SSD in a FW800 chassis as my Audio drive for a while (months…maybe a year) on Logic 9 and then PT 10 and had zero issues. (System drive is a newer SSD)

Actually, jailbreaking was explicitly decided to count as fair use not too long ago.

Since all you're doing is jailbreaking software, that specification, at least, of the EULA is on questionable...

I'm not sure why it's not listed. Probably something to do with the FW controller. My FW410 seems to work, though…so I'm not sure if that's it. Certainly haven't done extensive testing with it,...

If I'm not an idiot, the 8R is USB and the ProFire is firewire. I'd imagine there's no way to get them to sync up completely.

My suggestion: get rid of the 8R and follow clausiii's suggestion....

I'm actually considering upgrading to that late 2011 13" Pro because I'm afraid of the usb 3.0 switch.
