I can understand AVID. Much like my iPhone/iPad, links to the store pop up everywhere. Most of the time, it's context sensitive. Looking at plugins? Add a link to get more. Kinda handy.

Why is there a VSTPlugins folder under my Avid folder?

If Pro Tools doesn't natively support VSTs, then why is there a C:\Program Files\Avid\VSTPlugins folder? Wonder how it got there?

USB2 will most likely take advantage of more I/Os. Or higher sample rates. But if a USB1 interface has all the features you need, then go for it.

Anyone use Gobbler for collaborating?

Has anyone used Gobbler.com for collaborating Pro Tools sessions? 25GB to start isn't bad. Earn 10Gb for invites and other tasks. Much more space than DropBox.

Is there anyway at all to open two inserts at the same time? If I want to compare the Freqs of multiple tracks at the same time, is it possible?

Absolutely. The license on your iLok was upgraded to a bundle 9-10 version. That way it works for both v9 and v10.

The reason for surrendering your individual 9 license when upgrading to 10 is...
