Re: Unable to communicate with SYNC HD (24.3)

A friend is running an identical hardware setup as me and is getting the exact same errors randomly but not rarely.

Re: Protools wont play due to -22005 error

Hi Mirko! I'm getting the same thing (not your first error but the -22005 one quite frequently too since moving to a 14,8 Mac. And it's gotten worse since 24.3 Here's a related issue with the same...

Re: Varispeed problem

For what it's worth. My sync hd is v2.2.1. The only issue I've been having with the SYNC HD since moving to M2 mac is this and it has worsened with PT24.3.

Re: Unable to communicate with SYNC HD (24.3)

Quite often I now get an initial "frame rate mismatch between incoming reference and video"-error followed by a -22005 error or something like that and then PT won't play. This happens even when the...

Re: Varispeed problem

Yeah, I hope you can find a fix. This was literally the first time I've tried VSO since I started on PT4. :D
I work in post so I never need it. But I'm glad that it works in case I do.

Frank.

Re: Varispeed problem

Hi there,

I never need VSO but out of curiosity I just tried it with the below setup and it worked fine. No glitches or artefacts. 24.3 and 24.3 HD driver installed. Tried all the way down and up...

Re: 24.3 Pan window and floating clip fx messing focus bug

Hm...what's the purpose of a floating window when it can't float on top without stealing the window focus. Any why does it steal focus in this arbitrary way but doesn't when when you manually focus...

24.3 Pan window and floating clip fx messing focus bug

Hi there,

I'm getting a rather annoying window focus issue that disables the edit window shortcut focus when working. To reproduce try this:

-set clipfx window to floating and always on top and...

Re: Timecode audio file synchronization

Sounds like your location crew need to rethink their setup. People are still recording LTC to audio tracks these days? If the original picture has TC why can't they just jam sync the audio recorder?...

Unable to communicate with SYNC HD (24.3)

Hi there,

since the 24.3 update the daily "unable to communicate with the SYNC HD"-errors are back. They were down to once every 2-3 weeks with 23.12 but now it happens every moring and can only...

Re: Noisy Fades

I'm set to 32bit as well but I can not reproduce the noise. I can see it in RX but it's about 70dB quieter than yours. Mine measures @-138dBFs. Strange...

Re: Noisy Fades

Well thats odd then. I can't reproduce. Over here the noise in fades across empty clips is at -138dBFs nowhere near the -70 that you're getting. I'm also on 24.3 and RX10

Re: Noisy Fades

Well highest theoretically possible dynamic range at 24bit is 146dB so at -138dBFs I congratulate you to your hearing abilities AND your well isolated studio environment and your DAC that enables...

Re: Noisy Fades

I can only see that if I push the scale of RX all the way up so that it shows down to like -160dBFs. Level measured is around -138dBFs.
I suspect dither. I wouldn't call that "noise". More like...

Do you have them enabled in the CR settings (enable aux at startup setting in the config menu)?

And: PT makes a difference between clip list color and color of clips in the timeline. Only when you color the clip in the clip list those...

Re: Clip Solo!

Clip-solo? I started on PT4 but I have no memory of this ever existing. You can simply hit shift-S (solo selected track). No hunting for buttons necessary.
That said, I'd love to have an auto-solo...

Re: NAS- use SMB or NFS shares to connect?

For what it's worth:

I was on TNcore for 2 years before moving to scale. All on the same RAID Z2 array and same hardware (Supermicro server i3, 64GB RAM nothing high end really) and I could open...

Re: NAS- use SMB or NFS shares to connect?

What's odd is: Over here sessions open really quick even from the NAS (via SMB). I wonder what's different. I just have default settings active on that dataset. But: I use TNscale so it doesn't...

Re: NAS- use SMB or NFS shares to connect?

Oh and also:

I found that NFS is MUCH faster at displaying (reading meta-data) for very large folders on OSX. SMB sometimes takes a couple of seconds to display folder content (folders with 5-10k...

Re: NAS- use SMB or NFS shares to connect?

I'm running a TrueNAS Scale (stayed away from QNAP because of the frequent security issues in the past) with an 8-drive Z2 array, 64GB RAM and a 1TB cache NVME attached to the array. And...
