software instruments

Is there anyway to record the software instruments that come with GB directly into protools? i need to use the paino settings, but i dont want to have to record them in GB and then export and line...

I dont know the answer...but maybe you have the wrong mic/level selected.....like your recording the input from mic 2, but your mic is plugged into mic 1. Also maybe you are using a condeser and dont...

automating plugins

Pro tools is cpu based...ram is more for effects, heavey editting, and seq/virtual inst kinda stuff....to my understanding. Only benifit of a graphics card woudl be if it had more memory could clear...

Well i dont use a mac, but i can answer some of your question. USB is faster, well sort of. If you were to move a 3mb file usb woudl beat firewire.......but for long and continuous files firewire...

but i want them to still act indipendently from each other as well. If i put them in a group, Ill grab a fader to bump the volume up, but then when i let go the automation bumps it back down...but if...

but if i have autotion on one that goes to say -1, but then i move them all up 1db, the second i let of a fader they all jump back down to -1, BUt if i hold the fader down the just sit where they are...
