i figured that may be the case. Im using the 002 as the soundcard with the asio driver so i was thinking that it should be capable of 48khz.

Yep, 512 is definitely enough. Your problem doesnt lie in the amount of ram you have but it could well be that your ram has died in the ass. Go to any computer store and they'll test it for you.

just for your info (not sure if your using any of the EW/QL samplers), theres a new kompakt update on the NI site that apparently improves RTAS performance.
