I have a new iMac and realize it has a 800 Firewire, and my Digi 003r has a 400 Firewire. Which of these cables do I need? or recommend something else?

now I am confused on the FW400 vs FW800. The 003r is 400, but the iMac is 800. Anyone care to explain, and will one cable connect them or do I need an adaptor or ??? Sorry for my intense learning...

I opted for the quad core. Setting it up now. I should have plenty of umph I imagine. Hope I don't have any complications. Should I install the original 8.0 software first then download 8.0.3?

Thx for the response but as I understand it the iMac only has one firewire slot so if I connected the ext drive there where would u connect the 003r interface?

Please excuse my ignorance on the iMac. I am considering, but I was under the understanding you should have two hard drives, one for the program and one for the data. The iMac has one. Please advise.

I have a New 003 Rack, and about 40% of the time when I turn it on, it makes some clicking noises and the 4 Mic/DI lights intermittently keep flashing until I turn it off. So I turn it off and back...

Thanks everybody, I was detained for a few days, but finally got to try to uninstall IE 8. And it worked. I would have NEVER figured that out, so THANKS.

Then it took 3 times to upgrade firmware,...

I Just got 8.0 with 003Rack, because I was having trouble having the old 7.0 on the 002rack getting to load, plus it was time to upgrade. 8.0 installed on my computer fine, but when I go to fire it...

Shawn, thanks for the response. So that is the way it is. I recently learned how to use PT to do the midi with Reason, so I think I can figure that out, and I will stop being frustrated on that level...
