Re: DR-770 and ProTools

Welcome to DUC.

If you look around on DUC you'll see this basic question has been answered many times.

Just connecting an audio track to a MIDI track does not create audio. MIDI contains no...

Re: PC Requirements for PT Ultimate

FireWire is museumware, why would you be looking at that over USB 3 or Thunderbolt 3? Or PCIe card interfaces?

And USB-What? USB 3.x is very different than USB 2, and faster than FireWire....

Re: Using MBox Pro and ))@r simultaneously

How are you expecting this to work?

There is no firewire "chaining" supported by these interfaces.

The Digi 002 does not support aggregate IO so that won't work, and using CoreAudio aggregate...

Re: Offline Bounce issues with HDX

So if you open these sessions with Built In Output (or similar) as the playback engine. Do they bounce OK then on the same Mac system?

What other troubleshooting have you done? Trash prefs? Check...

Re: playback with Black/Shinny wah, and bounce are not the same.

Hi Oscar

Ugh MIDI plugin automation and bouncing, I think this is just more brain-dead MIDI behavior in Pro Tools.

The way to get this to work is write the plugin automation into an automation...

Re: MacBookPro&ProTools - 96k w/Headphone Jack

Your MBP with has a separate headphone output device, it is likely defaulting to 44.1 kHz. You should try setting it to 96kHz in Audio/Midi Setup.

Make sure you have no other software grabbing...

Can you make a really simple session showing this problem and share it online.

Re: Can Pro Tools First collaborate with PT 2020.5

More complex answer:

You can't collaborate on stuff that exceeds the limited capacity of Pro Tools First. What exactly happens if those limits are exceeded while collaborating is uh... your...

Re: Input Channels Stuck in Pre-Fader Metering

There are no other people complaining about this on DUC so it will very likely be something you are doing wrong or a local messed up system.

What type of track is it?

Not sure I can think how...

Re: I want to use my old Pro Tools but I dont have my Mbox Anymore!

Two pages in and you still have not provided the most basic info like what exact USB Mic do you have.

You may not have ASIO4ALL configured correctly, you may need to aggregate two devices in...

Oh yes then get setup properly and download all your Complete Plugin Bundle plugins... there is lots of good stuff there.

No need to reisntall Pro Tools itself... the same binary install is used...

Re: XPand2! Still come with protools?

In your Avid.com account under My Products you should see the "Avid Compete Plugin Bundle", under there you should have multiple things including XPand!2.

Re: How can I configure buffer size with Realtek?

As Dave said, you are likely much better off getting a dedicated audio interface that supports ASIO. ASIO4ALL is a hack, it may or may not work reliably for you, especially at smaller IO buffer...

Re: Running a 3rd 192 I/O? Help!

(holding sword aloft) THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE!

HD Native systems are limited to a single card = 2 x Digilink busses = 2 x 2 x 16 = 64 IO.

If you want more you need to go HDX or toss out Pro Tools...

Re: Please recommend an external SSD drive for me

My understanding is it tries to do something sane but you cannot get blood out of a stone. Memory is cheap if you can add it... fast PCIe/NVMe disk always helps and both together should also interact...

Re: Please recommend an external SSD drive for me

This is not clearly explained and trips up folks. So a good question.

"Normal" is more how Pro Tools has worked before. For aggressive disk caching you want to set the disk cache to a numeric...

The OP did not mention printing anything.

A lot has changed in the last large part of a decade. ultra-fast PCIe/NVMe based SSDs on one hand and Pro Tools disk cache on the other (but don't rely...

Re: Please recommend an external SSD drive for me

Make sure your mac home drive is *not* shared on iCloud... that can totally cause IO issues.

And with disk errors double check that the sessions are really going to that internal ultra-fast SSD....
