Actually, I have my System drive on a Siig IDE Controller PCI card and the Audio drive on its own IDE going to the MOBO primary IDE channel. CD and DVD are daisy chained on one IDE to MOBO...

How can I change the transfer method on the secondary IDE from PIO to DMA 6? There is no way to do it in XP that I can find and there is no where in A7V333-X BIOS that I can...

OK I'm totally stumped! I installed a new HD Maxtor on Secondary IDE on its own cable set to Master. Formatted it with the Maxtor latest drivers. Boot and in POST BIOS, Drive shows as DMA 6.

I think I found the problem with the audio drive. It seems to be set to PIO rather than DMA which I found out looking in the device manager under secondary IDE. Couldn't find anywhere to change...

GOt fed up with the stock settings and went with 18x multi and auto on the memory freq. Looks stable and running at 2.4GHz!!!!

See how the Sandra Burn goes running all night.

Guys:

I did a complete reinstall of Windows with just the Matrox, C drive and cd burner.

Reset the CMOS on the mobo.

BIOS settings automatically set to FSB 166 and multi at 13x...

OK, I upped the multiplier to 15.5 and kept the FSB at 133 (it just wouldn't run at 166). Now my CPU speed is 2.198GHz!!! I also raised my CPU Vcore to 1.675

On the A7V333-X should we be using the BIOS 1004 revision or the 1003 revision? I noticed both are available but it looks like everyone around here isusing the 1003 rev.
