Re: What brings Dolby Audio Bridge to HDX users?

It doesn´t matter who copied from who. AVID keeps copying from others and vice versa, I don´t give a f...It´s a simple plugin. If you had that, you could feed an external RMU without the need to...

Re: What brings Dolby Audio Bridge to HDX users?

Reaper DAW has a simple LTC/SMPTE generator plugin that you insert on a track and output on any audio out available. I wonder why a simple thing like this cannot be implemented as a AAX plugin in...

Re: New Mac Pro for Scoring - real world measurements

The Sonnet PCIe card with the M2´s seems like a great solution to internal SSD storage as is the OWC equivalent.
I was thinking of having a Blackmagic Multidock with 4 SSD drives, although of...

Re: MTRX-> HDX or MTRX->Dante

You´re welcome. Just keep in mind that the monitoring page on the AVID Control app that you can install on either a Dock or S1 tablet, only works in full when running with the DADman software and the...

Re: MTRX-> HDX or MTRX->Dante

Just a brief note: it´s all fine regarding concentrating everything in one box, but that comes at a price. And it´s a bit risky if something goes wrong with it too. Considering the inputs you say...

Re: MTRX-> HDX or MTRX->Dante

I recently build a studio with a MTRX with the internal 64 channel Dante card and a Focusrite Red4, that handles the DA/AD via Dante, instead of having the AD/DA options for the MTRX, which cost way...

Re: Mac Pro 7.1 questions

Regarding USB to SPDIF optical, there´s a lot of converters to choose from, just google it and choose accordingly to the price tag you aiming for.

Regarding HDMI, I use a Sonnet Echo 11 that can...

Re: Genelec 5.1?

8330 (or 8331 if you have the budget) and 7360 sub would be my recommendation for your room dimensions. If you want to go AES and bass management on top of the Lfe channel, you´ll need the 9301 unit.

Re: Recommendations for sub set-up and bass management?

Hi, I´m not familiar with your Yamaha setup, but I had a look at your sub specs.

The role of a sub in a 5.1, 7.1, or whatever layout that comprises a .1 channel is to get the LFE discrete channel...

Re: DADMan goes wonky

I did experience the same in regards to the meters. If the MAC goes to screen saving for let´s say an hour or so, the meters stop working. Once I thought that was related to energy saving on the MAC...

Re: Dolby Atmos hardware requirement for Production/Mastering suite

I still don´t get the benefits of being "certified". Even Netflix is not asking for that. Do you think it will better assure clients that when working on Atmos, they can trust you know what you´re...

Re: Dolby Atmos hardware requirement for Production/Mastering suite

Ya, I think I´ve read that as well,it goes from MTC to LTC. The point is that when you use the Dolby Audio Bridge, Sync HD goes out of the equation too.:-)

Re: Dolby Atmos hardware requirement for Production/Mastering suite

Ok, thanks. I guess you can still opt for MADI even using nMP setup, provided that you use an expansion chassis that have enough slots for the three cards, right? I guess that the Dante route is more...

Re: Dolby Atmos hardware requirement for Production/Mastering suite

I fully agree with you. The RMU as you say is an off the shelf Dell or MAC running Dante or MADI interfaces. Unfortunately I´m not in a position to try the Mastering Suite on different systems, I´ve...

Re: Dolby Atmos hardware requirement for Production/Mastering suite

What I´m saying is that the Mastering Suite needs to run on a qualified Win or MAC machine that is only sold by the Dolby approved dealer. If you read the whole VK page, you´ll get that. The title of...

Re: Dolby Atmos hardware requirement for Production/Mastering suite

If you want a dedicated RMU, you need to buy it from an authorized Dolby reseller, it will be either a specific PC (Dell) or MAC unit (not sure which machine/model at the moment) with either 128...

Re: Dolby Atmos hardware requirement for Production/Mastering suite

Which by the way, DAD does not sell anymore (digilink expansion card) as part of the agreement on manufacturing the MTRX for AVID.

Re: Dolby Atmos hardware requirement for Production/Mastering suite

In my understanding, the DAB is only for the Production Suite, running on the same machine as PT. It´s a computer internal bussing.
For an external RMU you will need physical interface connections,...

Re: Dolby Atmos hardware requirement for Production/Mastering suite

Well, not really. For some tasks the RMU is still necessary, even for HT. Please have a look at the above link I´ve posted.

Re: Dolby Atmos hardware requirement for Production/Mastering suite
