Re: Pro Tools 2020.5 GUI FREAK OUT on Windows 10

I spoke too soon, or jinxed myself by saying it's been great. I just had it happen.

Re: Pro Tools 2020.5 GUI FREAK OUT on Windows 10

Since I'm still manually setting it, I am forgetting to do it sometimes, but I'm usually taking care of it. I'm not sure if it's affinity, or just the changes to my resolution settings, but my...

Re: Pro Tools 2020.5 GUI FREAK OUT on Windows 10

Still all good here. I am setting affinity manually each time, but I’ll figure out the more long term solution soon.

Now I have a question about my recent experiences. It seems like you guys know...

Re: Pro Tools 2020.5 GUI FREAK OUT on Windows 10

Great that you guys are narrowing in on this thing! I haven't tried processor affinity yet, but I will. I did seem to make a huge improvement by creating a custom resolution with the AMD Graphics...

Re: Pro Tools 2020.5 GUI FREAK OUT on Windows 10

Well.... Support got back to me, and they say they do not support resolutions above 1080p. So, to test it, I've got it set to 1080 without any scaling, and while it's hard to look at, so far I...

Re: Pro Tools 2020.5 GUI FREAK OUT on Windows 10

I did some testing and I was having similar issues when putting a heavy load on cubase and studio one. I don't have the time or windows knowledge to troubleshoot right now. Hopefully it's a quick...

Re: Pro Tools 2020.5 GUI FREAK OUT on Windows 10

The mac graphic freeze is different. I was experiencing that on windows as well. The user interface would just pause for a second or two frequently, which is easily fixed by trashing prefs or...

Re: Pro Tools 2020.5 GUI FREAK OUT on Windows 10

Ugh... Now I'm expecting that same reply.

I just don't get it, this is seriously the only thing bringing the system down. I got past the lack of horizontal mouse wheel scrolling and learned the...

Re: Pro Tools 2020.5 GUI FREAK OUT on Windows 10

Damn.... Well, it's slowing me way down especially on this session that's got nearly 170 stereo tracks in it. Waiting to hear back from support, but think I'm just giving in and ordering a mac pro....

Re: Pro Tools 2020.5 GUI FREAK OUT on Windows 10

It must be a cpu overload kind of thing. I only start getting it in a very full session. Seems to happen more when I use some of the more CPU heavy Waves plugins?

Re: Pro Tools 2020.5 GUI FREAK OUT on Windows 10

I had this issue with 2019.12 as well, maybe just less frequently?

Re: Pro Tools 2020.5 GUI FREAK OUT on Windows 10

Well, I have Radeon Graphics (RX580), not Nvidea. Also, my display doesn't offer an option for resolution between 3840x2160 (too small to see anything), or 1080P (Too Huge).

Re: Pro Tools 2020.5 GUI FREAK OUT on Windows 10

Issue still solved for you guys? Maybe I should get a different graphics card so I can use the fix mentioned above, or maybe a different display? I can't set my scaling at 100% and be happy with...

Re: Pro Tools 2020.5 GUI FREAK OUT on Windows 10

I've been having this issue as well when searching for plugins. The moment I press return to select the plugin I want, the screen goes nuts. I switched to windows back in december, and this is THE...

Re: Pro Tools has become a nightmare (Windows)

I don't want to fuel the mac/pc wars, but oddly enough I just built a PC to give windows a shot after years of repeated crashes on my last 3 mac machines (2009 Mac Pro, a 2013 Mac Pro, and then a...

Re: HD Omni Optical Input Level low?

Well, this makes no sense, but I tried a different HDMI cable for my display and all is well. Levels are back to normal.

Re: Avid Control, Meters not working on iPhone 8

I tested the update the other day, and meters wouldn’t work on my 12.9 ipad pro on any page. I also had a lot of freezes and disconnections. Oddly, everything is working flawlessly on a pixel slate...

Re: Still no Side Chain Delay Compensation for Native?!?!

Good to know they’re aware of the need for this!

If I were simply looking to make instruments pump on quarter notes, I’d definitely use oneknob or LFO tool. As a mixer I’m using side chains to...

Still no Side Chain Delay Compensation for Native?!?!

It seems like Avid is realizing that Native systems are becoming more and more capable. It's great that Native now has the ability to have more voices. I've had to own an HDX 2 system just for that...
